(OOC :- OK folks here is a little vampire RP. I hope you like it.)

Dean got himself ready to commence his nightly rounds, He put on his coat and checked to make sure his weapons were still there. 5 stakes, a mini cross bow with 15 bolts with wooden tips and 10 with metal tips to take out any human slaves of the vamps. He also had a 24 inch Wakizashi (Japanese short sword) strapped to his back under his coat, the hilt hidden under his shoulder length hair. He knew his weapons were woefully inadequate but guns were hard to get in the UK and what kind of ammo could he use to kill a vampire?

He had been hunting vamps for six months now. Ever since they had killed his fiancée Mary. He had sworn vengeance on the foul creatures and hunted them every night So far he had killed about 20 of them but they seemed to be getting harder to kill as time went on. He hid his weapons so the vampires would not notice them but they still seemed to spot him and run.

What he needed was some help. He knew there were other hunters out there but didn’t know how to contact them. He guessed he would be able spot another hunter, they would probably be outside the pubs and in the parks and grave yards waiting for the vamps to show themselves the same way he did. But so far hadn’t spotted any.

If he could get a band of hunters together they could go after the main vampire in London. The legends said if that you kill him it would kill all other vampires he that he had created. On the other hand legends also said that holy water could kill a vampire and that they were scared of cross’s but when he had tried them all it had seemed to do was make the vampire wet and even angrier. So much for legends!

Dean stepped into the night and headed for Mortlake cemetery. Tonight was the winter solstice and some research on the internet suggested that this could be a big night for vampires. Maybe he would finally meet some other hunters.

[[OOC: Nice name, lol, Dean. Funny that there’s a dude named Dean in Supernatural.]]

Kathrine Ravencraft. At least that’s what my brand new license says my name is. I had made what I hoped to be a perfect escape from the streets of LA right under the nose of the FBI, so there’s no need to push the limit by using my real name here in London - eventually the FBI will talk to Interpol about me whether or not they find any traces of my escape. I can’t help but hope they buy the very subtle trail that I left behind for them; a trail that leads to my death. A fake trail yes, but it should buy me some time to get some work done.

Tonight, I’ll check out what’s goin’ on over at a place called ‘Mortlake cemetery.’ I’ve either been lucky, or not depending on how you wanna look at it, but so far I’ve not found any of my targets yet. Either they’ve already found me and are avoiding me, or they don’t know I’m here and have just been passing me by. Either way, this night will be the same as the past few, or I’ll run into some of my targets. As always, if I have died or disappeared without this book, please go to the first page and send this book to the address there. They will want to know what happened to me.

Kath closed the book around the pen and tossed both onto the nightstand beside her. She ran a hand across the sheets spread out over the bed where she sat, feeling every fiber brush against her skin. After a few minutes, she breathed a deep sigh and stood, heading over to the closet where she kept everything. She quickly unhooked her Chisa Katana from one of the hangers and tossed it scabbard and all onto the bed behind her. Following it was a wrist-mounted crossbow, a few bolts, a 9mm pistol, 2 clips full of wooden bullets, a few airtight plastic vials of “dead man’s” blood, 2 syringes, and finally her overcoat that still had the scars of past missions.

Soon she was standing in front of the bathroom mirror, making sure nothing was detectable. Wrist crossbow loaded and ready with its trigger hooked to a ring on her ring finger, katana well hidden down her back, gun easily reachable, but well hidden. She quickly tied her hair up into a ponytail so none of it would block her hand from the sword and took one last look over everything.

Once she had everything "odd" put back up into the proper places, she grabbed her keys and headed out her apartment room door toward her car. She'd be pulling up to a parking lot a block from the place in about ten minutes or so.

(OOC: - Well I may have been talking about supernatural when I thought of the name, Trust me it’s better than the first one I came up with for him. I’ve even managed to get a Sam in it. ^_^
The bit about the plague pit is true, Blackheath is also rumoured to be one. Who knows what the Black Death would do to a vampire? Having said that we don’t have to use the plague or plague pit in the RP but I thought I’d put it in there just in case.)

Dean got into his battered blue Vauxhall Astra and drove through the last dregs of rush hour traffic and headed through Richmond to get to Mortlake. He had picked this site tonight because of the number of people who seemed to be reported missing from the surrounding area. After doing some research on the internet he found there were rumours of haunting and strange happenings close to the cemetery and that the disappearances had been happening around the cemetery for at least 400 years.

During this research he found that many people thought that there was an old plague pit somewhere in the cemetery. The records of the time were sketchy at best and he had been unable to find a record of a pit being dug in the cemetery, it seemed most pits were dug in wherever there was an open space so this may just have been a story to scare people away from the area, Looking at the houses and flats surrounding the place in was obvious this hadn’t worked..

As he got closer posters started to appear on telegraph poles, lamp posts & phone boxes. He didn’t need to pull over to know they were asking information about missing people; he had already seen them on a previous visit. The latest ones were for an 18 year old girl call Samantha. She had disappeared after a night out a couple of weeks before; she was last seen walking towards Mortlake cemetery.

Finally his headlights picked out the entrance to the car park. He drove through, parked up and waited in the car and admired the old mausoleums as the last of the day’s visitors to left.

[[OOC: I'm all for incorporating real stuff into the RP - heck, I'm currently lookin' at an aerial photo of the place. As a note, the seals on the mausoleum's doors are a reference to the Plague.]]

Kathrine pulled into an empty spot that bordered S. Worple Ave. She didn't even need to read the poster on the light post in front of her to know that on it was information about someone that had gone missing in the past days, weeks, or months. Locals were trying to get the police to up protection in the area because of all those that had gone missing, but so far nothing had come of it. So finally one of them called around and found her. The only promise she made was that she would look around. If the disappearances were just kidnappings or people running away from home, she didn't want anything to do with it. If the rumors were true and there was some blood-sucking ancient here, then she'd join in the game - take on the community as a client and track down the missing people after taking care of the thing responsible for their disappearance.

She pulled out her Blackberry and opened a map of the cemetery. She had done research into the people buried here and had picked out a likely mausoleum. After memorizing the location of the thing, she tossed the Blackberry into the glove compartment and stepped out of her car, pulling an assortment of brightly colored flowers out with her. Once her car was locked, she quickly made her way through the parking lots over to the cemetery.

She wasn't surprised that the few remaining people were already filtering their way out of the cemetery. The people were still worried about the rumors regardless of whether or not they believed them to be true. She quickly spotted her target mausoleum and headed over to it. It was well situated to provide a person standing there a quick escape to the surrounding neighborhoods under the cover of the shadows created by the trees overhead. Once she was standing in front of the mausoleum's doors, she casually glanced around while placing the flowers into an empty stone vase. The parking lot was in clear view from here and not many trees cast shadows onto the pathway between. The last remnants of the day's visitors were either gone or just leaving the cemetery grounds.

This is a damn fine spot for me to escape unnoticed if I were a vamp, she thought to herself, noting that there were no good places she could watch the doors of this mausoleum from. She bet that a person could get one of the doors open and escape in such a way so that a person in the lot watching would not see. Staring at the doors, she finally noticed that it looked like there was no way a person could open them - they looked to be sealed shut. She reached a hand out and traced a small part of one of the seals with her finger. There must be a secret door then. Damn, it's gettin' too close to dark to search if there is one. She glanced at the walls around the door for a moment, I'll just have to guess... She started walking in a random direction away from the mausoleum, hoping that if there was a secret door, it was on one of the sides facing her.

(OOC: sorry I’m not getting to post that often at the moment but I’m really busy. 3 hours travel a day tends to eat a lot of my time.)

Dean sat in his car quietly chewing a mint and admiring some of the mausoleums. Some were so extravagant they took your breath away and some seemed austere and bland. His attention was caught by a car pulling into the car park; He watched as the driver found a space and parked. He was bored enough to watch her as she got out of the car carrying flowers.

Normally this wouldn’t have caught his interest but she was pulling in when everybody else was starting to leave. He couldn’t really get started until full dark fell so he watched from inside his car as she walked up to one of the mausoleums carrying flowers and placed them in a stone vase. There was nothing strange about that, somebody stopping by after the office that’s all. He watched her idly as she touched the door and then walked off further into the cemetery. That wasn’t normal. People normally just left after doing their duty, especially with those older mausoleums.

He opened the glove box and without taking his eye off the woman grabbed the only things inside, a box of matches and a can of lighter fluid. Throwing holy water on vamps didn’t work but burning just might. He slipped out of the car and locked it with the remote as he set off in the same general direction the woman had gone. She probably wasn’t a vampire but her actions felt wrong to him.

He pretended to be looking for a grave while keeping an eye on the woman. He didn’t really know why he was following her, if he was Spiderman he’d have said his spider sense was tingling but as he wasn’t he put it down to an odd feeling he had about her. His plan went well until he looked down to see where he was walking and when he looked up he couldn’t see her there. He looked around for a while but there were so many places’ she could have gone that it was almost impossible to find her. Besides if she was innocent she’d just think he was a pervert stalking her.

He decided to find somewhere to hide in the shadows to watch out for anything unusual. He knew from past experience that the caretaker would just lock the gates if there were cars in the car park or not so he was there until they opened the place again, and if the woman was still here so was she.

[[OOC: No problem, just post when you can.]]

Feeling like the hairs on the back of her neck were standing on end, Kathrine glanced to her left and briefly saw a walking figure far behind her looking in her direction. Not wanting to stay in the open longer with that person following her, she kept glancing to her sides and finally ducked behind a large tombstone the moment his face was turned away from her. As she pulled her pistol out, she poked her head around the corner of the stone, just far enough so she could see the man. The hell? she thought, noting the can the man was holding as he looked around for something. She ducked her head back behind the stone, Could it be possible he’s another hunter? He lacks the sort of training I had, but maybe...

She glanced back around the corner of the stone to make sure he wasn’t looking in her direction and duck ran to another large stone and then did the same thing again and again until she was looking at the man’s back. Not wanting to take any chances on whether or not the man really was a Vamp’s guardian, she started sneaking her way towards the man from behind, ducking from mausoleum wall to tombstone to tombstone. She just hoped she had enough time to get the man into a sleeper grip and hide his unconscious body before the vamp, if there really was one, came out of hiding. Besides, she could talk to him later, whether or not a vamp showed that night.

[[OOC: Considering the relative distance the characters are from each other at this point, this is where the posts start shortening. ]]

(OOC:- Once again sorry for the disappearing act, I’m coming of the pain killers now so have a clear enough head to start posting again.)

Dean was leaning between two mausoleums when he had a feeling that he was being watched. He had learned to go with these feelings rather than ignore them, they had saved his life on several occasions and if there was nothing there nobody would ever know he’d made an idiot of himself by jumping at shadows.

He waited a fraction longer and spun around and saw a figure duck behind a tombstone. “Why don’t you show yourself?” realising he was still holding the can of lighter fluid he flipped the nozzle open on the top and slowly put the can on the ground in front of himself accidently knocking the can over so the nozzle was pointing towards the person he had seen and stood again. In his other hand he was still holding the matches.

[[OOC: no need to apologize]]

Damn it. Kathrine hesitated for a moment, leaning against the tombstone. She needed a way to get close to the man. Well, she was still young enough to pass off as a college student which could give her an excuse to be in the middle of a cemetery that was supposedly the home of a vamp. She quickly came out of cover, brushing the dirt off her clothes as she quickly and noisily hurried over to the man.

Whispering just loud enough for the man to clearly hear her, "Keep it down dude! Haven't you heard the rumors?" She got close enough so that he wouldn't feel too threatened by her while making sure the nozzle of the can was not pointing at her: considering the matches, whatever was in the can was probably flammable and could probably fly out of the can like a flamethrower. She looked around at the cemetery and leaned in close, "There's supposed to be vampires buried here. You know? Real life, night-stalkin bloodsuckers sleepin' in the coffins they were buried in! I wanna get some vid of the things to put on myspace. Freak the shit out of my friends." She started reaching into pockets as if trying to find something, "Fuck! Where's my camera. They'll never believe it if I don't got a good vid of the damn thing..." She looked around at the ground around her then back along the way she had come.

"God damn it, must have dropped the fucking thing." She turned back to the man, a thoughtful look crossing her face. "You look like you're here for the same reason I am, do you have a camera? Like one that can take hi-res vid? It would be awesome if we could share the vid 'cause I don't think I'll have time to find mine."
